Bridging Ages CIC

Bridging Ages is a community interest company based in Sussex, UK. Our mission is to bring old and young people together in the belief that intergenerational relationships are mutually beneficial and fundamental to a healthy society.

We have developed the Life Stories Project in 2014 and ran it ourselves in Forest Row. Sixth form students are trained, matched with local older residents, visit them and write their life story. We publish the stories in individual books which are presented by the student to their older partner. Now, with a National Lottery grant, we have written a Toolkit which we are not piloting in a Local Council and also with a school. Our aim is to roll this project out to a wider audience: Sussex and beyond.
