Beachy Head Ambassadors
The Beachy Head Ambassador project will be running for 2 years as a pilot commissioned by East Sussex Public Health.
From August– September 2024 our Beachy Head Ambassador Volunteers will be positively promoting Beachy Head.
They will be promoting activities, local history and the natural environment, encouraging safe and responsible use of the area, and improving visitors’ experiences.
The purpose of the project is:
- To create a positive association with Beachy Head amongst the public by creating activities, and promoting local sights to see, share information on the natural environment and history of Beachy Head.
- To provide a positive experience for visitors at Beachy Head.
- To understand visitor behaviour at Beachy Head and what’s working well and what could improve the visitor experience.
- To encourage a safer and more responsible use of the area, engaging with other organisations on how to best achieve this.
It is an opportunity to encourage both locals and tourists to use the area for active and engaging activities or increase their knowledge of the local area.
Volunteer as a Beachy Head Ambassador
We’re recruiting Beachy Head Ambassador Volunteers now until the end of July. We are looking for enthusiastic people (aged 18+) who can spare 2 hours a week from August to September and are able to be on their feet for the duration in most types of weather (not heavy rain or extreme weather).
We don’t need you to be an expert, just a good communicator, approachable and motivated to make a difference. We will provide you with all the training you need, help you to develop your skills and you will be part of a friendly and motivated team. If you have any additional skills that you could bring to the role, such as experience with social media, languages, photography or sports training, then this would be a bonus.
If you feel like this is the volunteer opportunity for you, please view the volunteer role profile and complete the volunteer application form below.
