Wealden District

As the local Voluntary Action, we provide a wide range of development and networking support to groups across Wealden – from Birling Gap, Polegate and Hailsham to Uckfield and Crowborough in the High Weald and on to Forest Row, Crowborough and Wadhurst in the North Weald.
In communities we work with you on a range of areas, including setting up a new group with the right structure and policies, identifying and applying for funding and much more. You can post on this website, receive news alerts, join networks and attend network meetings. We can also help you with volunteers.
We manage the Wealden Food Partnership which brings together over 100 organisations, businesses, and community groups to create a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient local food system. From addressing food poverty and reducing waste to promoting sustainable farming and food education, the Partnership collaborates on initiatives that make a real difference in our community.
From July 2025 we will deliver the Wealden Climate Change Network.
On behalf of Wealden District Council, we deliver the Cost of Living Grants Programme, making grants to community groups delivering services to address the Cost of Living Crisis.

Wealden Community Network Meeting

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the Wealden Community Network Meeting on 13th March
We were delighted to be able to join together to meet in person at the Victoria Pavilion in Uckfield and we are so grateful to everyone at Sussex Support Services who made that possible by kindly hosting the meeting.
Special thanks too to Kat Jenner and David Chennell from from Wealden District Council (WDC) who facilitated an insightful and valuable consultation workshop on proposed renewals to WDC’s leisure provision. We were also grateful to hear from Olena Lavrova from the Refugee Buddy Project, Dawn Rennie from Clarion Housing and Claire Webley and Darina Elliot from the National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund.
What matters most to us at 3VA is that the Community Network Meetings are useful for everyone who attends them, and we love getting your feedback about them. We read and consider all feedback carefully whatever the views being expressed may be and please do feel free to send us your views at [email protected] These are Networks that belong to their members and we are continuously looking at ways to improve the meetings and welcome your suggestions.
