Eastbourne Area Parents' Action Group (EAPAG) - Chalk Farm LDC

EAPAG is a training and day centre for adults with learning disabilities and / or autism. It is based at a fully functioning non-profit-making hotel, which operates as a small Bed & Breakfast with 9 bedrooms with facilities for functions. Students have the opportunity to receive training, and/or employment, within a realistic setting. This includes training and experience in hospitality or horticulture. The aim is to encourage students wishing to move into employment and ensure they are given the opportunity do so.
• To provide individually structured training programmes, which include personal hygiene, customer care and health and safety at work. • To teach a range of practical skills in a caring and friendly environment, which helps to equip many for appropriate levels of independence and /or job preparedness, if students choose to move on. • To provide classroom based activities, to improve Maths, English • To teach valuable life skills. • To teach the value of teamwork. • To set realistic and attainable goals. • To encourage social skills.
