To use cookery and food as tools for promoting positive change in the world. Our work helps to address health, environmental, poverty and food access issues. To encourage people to take responsibility for their lives in a pro-active way and develop transferable, practical, empowering and enjoyable skills. In so doing, we help people to work together and make healthy, vibrant communities. Their work directly supports an ecologically responsible and ethical food system by using and promoting local food, independent food producers and retailers, organic agriculture, community food co-operatives and community self-sufficiency.
We are a community interest company which works nationally with research, government and health organisations, schools, community groups, charities, and ethical businesses. Community Chef offers the following services Cookery leader training Bread Club Training Community cookery programmes in house and outreach cookery and bakery workshops and courses Public cookery and bread making demos Community food consultancy We also run the Lewes Community Kitchen and the Lewes bread club
