Organisation Association of Carers
Association of Carers are looking for Volunteers who have a spare few hours each to help support unpaid Carers to continue with their caring roles.
We have many different volunteering roles available, including:
Respite with befriending- our volunteers go to our Carers homes and sit with their loved one to enable the Carer to have their own time. This is usually up to 3 hours per week. There is no personal care or medication administration involved.
Healthcare Respite- Similar to our Respite with Befriending role, but these are adhoc to cover healthcare appointments that our Carers need to attend for their own wellbeing.
Talk & Support- Our volunteers call our Carers once a week for a check in call. This is a wonderful support service that gives our Carers a listening ear, an opportunity to reach out and helps to reduce isolation.
Volunteer Drivers- We are looking for volunteers who have a full clean drivers licence and access to a car to help take volunteers to their sits and training.
Computer Help at Home Volunteers- For those who are technically minded we need volunteers to help support and enable our Carers to use their own devices. These range from smart phones, Alexa's, smart televisions and laptops
