Organisation Citizens Advice Eastbourne

Citizens Advice Eastbourne have an exciting new opportunity where we are looking for an outgoing and proactive volunteer to help promote volunteering to the wider community and attract new recruits.

What will you do?

- Promote the local Citizens Advice service so that the people understand what Citizens Advice does, what volunteer roles
are available and how to become a volunteer
- Aim to attract/reach potential volunteers from minority groups
- Create leaflets and posters to promote the service, or use existing materials
promote the local Citizens Advice to people at community events, colleges/universities, local companies, groups
(disability, social, charity, religious), volunteering fairs etc.
- Lead on promoting volunteering using things like local press, radio, social media, (e.g. Facebook and Twitter), local
Citizens Advice website and newsletter to raise the profile of the local Citizens Advice and volunteering opportunities

What do you need to have?
You don’t need specific qualifications or skills but you’ll need to:

- be friendly,approachable and out-going
- respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
- have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- have good IT skills
- have a really positive attitude towards volunteering
- be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data
protection
- be willing to undertake training in your role - experience of public speaking; recruiting and or social media promotion
preferred but not essential

How much time do you need to give?

We can be flexible about the time spent and how often you volunteer so come and talk to us.
