The funding is for projects that have a clear alignment with one of the Trust’s themes for 2025:
- Enabling participation in physical activity
- Enabling participation in the arts
- Improving biodiversity and responding to the climate emergency
- Improving green spaces and increasing access to the outdoors
- Preventing or reducing the impact of poverty
- Providing support to improve mental health
- Supporting marginalised groups and tackling inequality
The funding offered is unrestricted and therefore flexible. It can be used however it is most needed.
The funding should be spent within 18 months.
Who can apply
Local charities and other not-for-profit organisations based and working in the south of England can apply.
To be eligible, applicants must have:
- An income of less than £1 million in the most recent financial year.
- Been operating for a minimum of 12 months and have signed accounts at the time of application.
- A governing document in the name of their organisation with charitable objectives.
- A UK bank account in the name of their organisation with two unrelated signatories.
As funding rounds are always oversubscribed, priority will be given to charities and good causes which meet some or all the following criteria:
- Organisations with an annual income of £250,000 and below.
- Communities that rank as being within the top 15% on the English Index of Multiple Deprivation
- Groups that are specifically set up to support people from the following minority/marginalised groups:
- Communities experiencing racial inequity
- Disabled people.
- LGBT+ people.
Round 1 opens 24 February and closes 3 March 2025.
Round 2 opens 26 May and closes 2 June 2025.
Round 3: To be confirmed later in 2025
Applications open at 9am and close at 12 noon.
