Over £30,000 up for grabs for East Sussex green community projects

Recycling company N+P Crayford MRF Ltd and East Sussex County Council are calling for grant applications for the N+P in East Sussex Fund, which has over £30,000 to donate to community projects.

Funding applications from £50 to £5,000 would be considered for projects that demonstrate environmental sustainability, community involvement, local need, and value for money. Projects must be located within the administrative area of the county council and be delivered by October 2026.

Successful applications will be those which show community participation and benefit, demonstrate social inclusion, deliver a strong benefit for the area and are self-sustaining.

Over £70,000 has already been awarded to more than 30 valuable projects over the last three years. These range from creating habitats for pollinators to installing a scooter track at a junior school.

The deadline for applications is 27 June 2025. Applications will be evaluated by the N+P in East Sussex Board, which will include representatives of N+P and East Sussex County Council. Applicants will be advised of the outcome by the end of August, with funding provided to successful projects in September.

Funding will not be provided for staffing or salary costs, course leader fees, maintenance, running costs (like venue hire, travel costs or refreshments), construction of new buildings, projects where a statutory duty applies (e.g. services run by the local council), individuals seeking sponsorship, or donations for charitable events.

Any group wishing to apply to the N+P in East Sussex Fund can find the funding application form and more details at N+P in East Sussex Fund | East Sussex County Council.
