Historic England’s New One-Off £15m Heritage at Risk Capital Fund – Apply by 30 April

The Heritage at Risk Capital Fund is a special one-year, £15 million fund to give grants to heritage at risk, helping people to save the historic sites in England that are most important to them.

The fund is provided and administered by Historic England. The new fund is in addition to Historic England’s current Heritage at Risk Repair Grant and will be open to a wider range of local heritage sites.

Individuals and organisations can apply for a grant to support the conservation, repair and conversion of listed buildings of all grades, historic buildings in conservation areas, registered parks and gardens and scheduled monuments.

Projects should be located in England’s most deprived communities (Indices of deprivation 1 to 3).  Projects from outside these areas may be considered where it is clearly shown that the project is serving deprived communities.

A total of £15 million is being made available for the financial year 2025-2026. There is no standard rate for individual grants. Grants are awarded at the discretion of Historic England and will depend on the nature of the project and the work that is needed.

The funding must be spent by 31 March 2026.

There is a two-stage application process.

The Expression of Interest form is available upon request by sending an email to [email protected].

The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 30 April 2025 (23:59)
