Children’s services earlier help and VCS role

You will be aware of the recent national drive to support families at the earliest possible time. Within East Sussex County Council (ESCC) Children’s Services we recognise this and are looking at ways of developing a wider prevention approach by transforming the way we all work together to support families in our communities

To do this we all need to focus on offering families support at an earlier stage to prevent escalation into specialist or statutory services.  This system change will look to support families in the community at Level 2 on the Continuum of Need (see attached document).

At ESCC we recognise the range of skills partners in the Voluntary and Community Social Enterprises (VCSE) have alongside significant experience and understanding of supporting families within their communities. We also recognise there needs to be a wider system change to support families with access to the right support at the right time and we need your help to do this. 

To strengthen our collaboration and better understanding of your work we invite you to share your insights, and we would like to discuss this with you. Your input will be vital in creating meaningful system change together.
