You can live independently in our housing with peace of mind that help is on hand if you need it. Am I eligible? Our properties have certain eligibility requirements as follows: Sheltered housing for rent You need to be 60 years old and over. You need to have equity and savings below a certain level. You do not own property that is suitable for your housing needs. You must have a local connection to the Local Authority area. You need to have lived in the area for three out of the past five years or have a family member (parent; adult children or brothers or sisters including corresponding step relationships) who has resided in the area for the past two continuous years. Independent living - rented housing You need to be 55 years old or over. You need to have equity and savings below a certain level. You do not own property that is suitable for your housing needs. You must have a local connection to the Local Authority area. You need to have lived in the area for three out of the past five years or have a family member (parent; adult children or brothers or sisters including corresponding step relationships) who has resided in the area for the past two continuous years.
