Family Support Work

Family Support Work strives to help as many children and families as possible who are living in Sussex and facing difficulties in their lives. We support families who are struggling with a range of issues including economic deprivation; mental or physical illness; disability; family breakdown; domestic abuse; bereavement; children at risk and social isolation. Our experienced family support practitioners give practical and emotional support that enable families to access appropriate services, give them strategies for coping and build their confidence to become stronger. Our support is not time-limited so we are able to stay with a family for as long as they need us, and our services are free of charge to all.

• Family support (home visits, after school clubs, play activities) • Drivers (for hospital, Dr appointments and meetings) • Fundraising event helpers (setting up events, serving teas & homemade cake, Registering challenge event participants) • Cake bakers (to provide homemade cakes for events such as open gardens, sponsored walks, coffee mornings etc…) • Play work support (supporting our Family Support Practitioners)
