Eastbourne Downland Group

To promote and enhance the landscape and biodiversity of the South Downs, particularly the Eastbourne Downland Estate, for the benefit of its wildlife, local communities and visitors. The group works to prevent the transfer of the estate to private ownership.

A member of Eastbourne and Lewes Council’s Downland Forum. We contribute walks and events to the council’s annual Walking Festival. Our activities are designed to widen knowledge about the public ownership of the Downland estate and to communicate the natural capital and health and well-being benefits of the estate to the town’s residents, students, businesses and visitors.
