For Ukrainians living East Sussex with Homes for Ukraine and Family Scheme visas, the SCDA Move-On Grant is available to help you secure your first home, and we are here to help you apply.

This grant will help you move on and secure a home to rent, but also support you with extra costs and more. You will be eligible for:

• Holding Fee; a one-off payment to a landlord or letting agent to reserve a property
• Your 1st-month rent; most landlords ask for 1 month’s rent in advance before you sign the agreement and move in
• Tenancy deposit: a tenancy deposit is normally 5 weeks rent
• Guarantor agreement: some landlords and letting agents ask for a guarantor before they’ll offer you a tenancy
