Location East Sussex
These wonderful stories filled with empathy, understanding, support, and recognition are written by Ukrainian children and teenagers residing in care homes in Poland. Kitabna – which means ‘Our Book’ in Arabic – made it possible for all of us to hear about the children’s hopes and dreams by co-creating these stories with the children and working in collaboration with Save The Children Child Protection teams.
What can be better than sharing the stories together, in a circle, sharing feelings, thoughts, experiences, and understanding at the end that we are united in so many ways, no matter nation, culture, language or other obstacles or reasons?
- Kitabna made these stories accessible for FREE online for all children and their families; To access these, go to read the Tales written by Ukrainian children, and even more stories from children all around the world.
- Would you wish to create a story of your own, with your family, or as a group, then read your story to your peers, your friends or in a storytelling space? The freely available toolkits from Kitabna are also accessed online to help you do this!
More information about the UK-based beautiful Kitabna non-profit organisation that has been working to co-create children’s books with communities affected by conflict and disaster since 2014 all over the world can be found here.
