The Looking Forward Project – National Institute for Health and Care Research
The Looking Forward Project is a research study funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. In this project, we are testing a new way to help young women who are not in education, employment, or training called HOPEFUL. The Looking Forward Project is happening in Sussex, Kent, and East Anglia, UK.
Young women aged 16-25 years, who are not in education, employment, or training and living in one of these areas can take part. Young women can refer themselves to the project or a friend, relative, or support organisation can contact us on their behalf. We are also interested to hear from anyone interested in volunteering as a mentor for these young women.
HOPEFUL is a package of materials designed to help young women become more hopeful and to experience the benefits of hope in their daily life. HOPEFUL is based on a powerful set of research-backed tools. These tools are designed to help young women learn about themselves, to grow and maintain hope, and to move closer towards living the sort of life that feels meaningful to them. HOPEFUL has been created by working with young people and the people that support them.
HOPEFUL is currently only available to young women involved in our research study called The Looking Forward Project.
Please share information about our project with anyone that you think might be interested.
Thank you!
