Is your charity or community group ready to make all your New Year’s goals come true? Every year in January a large number of people want to do something locally, get involved and volunteer. Whether you call it a “new year’s resolution” or “the new year, new beginning” effect, research shows that there is a significant increase in interest in volunteering in January and the new year in general.
This winter, 3VA will put on events, training and support to help groups successfully recruit and retain volunteers. We are offering:
- Training on “How to attract and retain more volunteers” on 22 January (this course is now fully booked, but a waiting list is in place; please e-mail Martina Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.)
- Two Volunteer Coordinators' Forums – one at Langney Hall in Eastbourne on 13 February and, in response to requests, another in one of our more rural communities – at St Thomas a Beckett Church Hall in Framfield on 13 March.
- Two training workshops, where you can bring your current ideas for volunteer roles or existing role descriptions you struggle to recruit for and come out with solutions to maximise your recruitment. These are linked to the forums – please see details above.
All of the sessions are fully funded by our funders and offered FREE to groups in the area, but booking is essential.
We are also encouraging and supporting organisations to use local volunteer hubs and the national volunteer advertisement site - do-it.org. If you would like to know more, please contact us on 01323 639 373 or at email@example.com for free advice and support.
