Would you like to improve the quality of your project design and management, increase your chances of securing funding for your project and learn a range of practical tools to support your project work? 3VA's Project Management course, which returns in January 2019, is designed with the voluntary and community sector in mind.
Participants taking the course will develop skills to help them become more efficient in designing and delivering projects. This course was developed based on feedback that we gathered over the last year through our annual membership renewal, training feedback forms and our group support work.
Martina Taylor, Community Development Support Officer, who coordinates 3VA's training programme said:
"The main focus of the course is to equip and empower people with enhanced designing and management tools as well as techniques to help make projects relevant, feasible and sustainable, which are the main attributes that funders are looking for in grant applications."
The course is divided into four 3-hour modules that follow different stages of project management, from developing ideas and skills for fundraising to implementation, evaluation, reporting and identifying future work.
All four modules are delivered by Helen Meade, whose experience in the third sector ranges from voluntary action for small, grass roots community organisations to project management for national charities. She has worked as a Community Development Officer for 3VA, delivering several projects and developing a more rigorous and effective evaluation system for the organisation. She is currently the Programme Coordinator for the Railway Land Wildlife Trust in Lewes. Helen also teaches at the Open University and has completed research there on evaluation in cross-sectoral partnerships.
Previous participants have said:
This is an "excellent and comprehensive training course, very good trainer and delivery. Good clear resources and practical tools to take away."
"I found all the modules useful. Helped me to recognise what I already know (strengths) and what I don't know (areas to improve). Super!"
The course fee is £120 for 3VA members and £150 for non-members. Each session will take place at 3VA's Annexe, 8 Saffrons road, Eastbourne from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
