3VA Drop-in Sessions

3VA is pleased to offer drop-in sessions to groups in Eastbourne and Lewes District.

In Eastbourne, 3VA is working with Eastbourne Volunteers to provide support to organisations that involve volunteers and to help individuals in their search for the sort of volunteering opportunities that they are looking for. Every Tuesday between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm, Stephen Hughes, 3VA's Community Development Officer responsible for supporting groups across Eastbourne, is available to provide support from the Eastbourne Volunteer’s office situated at 1 The Labyrinth, 7 Mark Lane, Eastbourne, BN21 4RJ. If you have any issues in relation to volunteer recruitment, retention or support or if you are seeking volunteering opportunities then just call in at the office or telephone for an appointment. Stephen can also advise groups on issues such as legal structures, constitutions, policies and procedures and funding opportunities. For more information, please contact Stephen Hughes at stephen.hughes@3va.org.uk or on 01323 639 373 ext. 208.

In Lewes, 3VA's weekly drop-in sessions take place on Tuesdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at House of Friendship, 208 High Street, Lewes BN7 2NS, Lewes and on Thursdays from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm at the Lewes District Council offices in Southover House Reception, Southover Road, Lewes BN7 1AB. Groups are welcome to just turn up to speak to Lee Shepherd, 3VA's Community Development Officer for Lewes about any needs relating to funding, governance, organisational development and volunteering. For more information, please contact Lee Shepherd at lee.shepherd@3va.org.uk or on 01323 639 373 ext. 218.

Whilst there is currently no regular drop-in session for Wealden, groups in the area are welcome to contact Fiona Morton, Community Development Officer for Wealden, for support and more information. Fiona can be reached at fiona.morton@3va.org.uk or on 01323 639 373 ext. 207.

3VA runs a number of events and workshops throughout the year designed to help voluntary and community groups benefit from networking, explore opportunities for collaborative working, share good practice and discuss issues of mutual concern with a view to finding practical solutions. Recent topics covered have included building on the community assets in Eastbourne, community transport and access to services in Wealden and work to make Lewes town a place where the needs of people with dementia are understood and catered for. 3VA facilitates the East Sussex Volunteer Coordinators' Networking Forum for people who manage volunteers - an excellent opportunity to share and learn about good practice in this important area.

3VA also runs regular networking meetings across Eastbourne, Lewes and Wealden, so if you have an issue you would like to raise, come along and tell us. Browse our events calendar to find out when the next meeting will take place. Alternatively, contact your local 3VA community development officer:
