Free NHS Health Checks for 40-74 year olds, provided by One You East Sussex, the county’s free healthy lifestyle service.

The check will assess your risk of developing cardiovascular disease. During the check-up you’ll discuss how to reduce your risk of these conditions.

The health check includes:

– A cholesterol test
– A blood sugar test (if eligible)
– Blood pressure check
– BMI measurement
– Dietary and lifestyle based questions

Results are instant and discussed with you at the end of the appointment, ready to take home the same day. They will also be sent to your GP to be stored in your patient file.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA APPLY – To receive a health check you must:

– Be aged 40-74
– A resident of East Sussex (Not including Brighton and Hove)
– NOT have had an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years
– NOT diagnosed with or currently taking medication to manage high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes or kidney disease
– NOT previously had a heart attack, stroke or TIA
