Volunteer Governor

Come and join us, we are the main provider of community NHS health and care across Sussex, providing essential medical, nursing and therapeutic care to adults, children and families.

Volunteer Governors support Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust by helping us improve service delivery and in particular listening to the voice of our volunteers and reporting back to our Council of Governors.

What you will be doing:
• Promoting volunteering internally and externally
• Chair and lead the quarterly Volunteer Voice forum with support.
• Listen to the voice of the volunteer. Especially in ‘National Volunteers Week’.
• Represent the service at Trust/Community Events/Governor Meetings.

The skills you need:
• Experience of previous or current volunteering
• Be a clear and confident communicator, with the ability to communicate to diverse groups.
• Have an awareness of challenges within an NHS environment.
• Be IT literate and be able to participate in Microsoft Teams meetings.
• Willingness to travel to visit a variety of placements within Sussex that suit you.
