Veterans’ Foundation Announces 2024/25 Deadlines

The Foundation offers grants to UK registered charities and other not-for-profit organisations in the UK that provide support to those ‘in need’ among serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families.

The range of charities and organisations supported is extensive and covers every aspect of social care and includes but is not limited to homelessness, employability, financial disadvantage, disability, welfare issues, mental health, marriage guidance, care during old age and confidence building.

Applications can be made now for:

  • Standard grants of between £5,001 and £30,000. This can be for one year or a multi-year grant for up to three years (eg, £10,000 per year over three years).
  • Salary grants up to £25,000 per year for up to three years, for the exclusive use of salary costs.

There are quarterly deadlines:

  • 30 July 2024 – for a decision in September 2024.
  • 8 October 2024 – for a decision in December 2024.
  • 20 January 2025 – for a decision in March 2025.
  • 31 March 2025 – for a decision in June 2025.
  • 21 July 2025 – for a decision in September 2025.

The Foundation plans to introduce small grants of between £500 and £5,000 in late July or early August 2024. Once the programme opens, it will remain open for applications as it is a rolling programme and there are no deadlines.
