Henry Smith Charity to Close Two Grant Programmes at End of June 2024

Henry Smith Charity has announced that after seven years, the ‘Improving Lives’ and ‘Strengthening Communities’ Grant programmes will close at 5pm on 28 June 2024 whilst it undergoes strategic review. No further applications will be accepted for either grant programme after that time. However, the Charity’s other grant programmes (Holiday Grants for Children, Kindred, and Christian Projects) will continue to operate as usual.

The Charity expects to launch a new funding strategy in Spring 2025 to reflect the changed context since its last strategy in 2017.

According to the funder, ‘future priorities will continue to fund organisations working to tackle social and economic disadvantage and support those in poverty, as well as seeking to maximise our long-term impact and support the sector in the most effective ways we can.’

Information about the strategic direction and plans will be published over the coming months. Groups who are interested in receiving updates about the new strategy may sign up for the Henry Smith Charity newsletter via the funder’s website.

In the meantime, applications can still be made to the ‘Improving Lives’ and ‘Strengthening Communities’ Grant programmes.

The deadline for applications is 28 June 2024 (17:00)
