Are you making the most of your local library?

Eastbourne Library East Sussex

When you think of libraries, you might think of a calm and relaxing environment packed with fascinating, educational, and inspiring books – and you’d be right – but there’s so much more going on behind those doors.

From free WiFi to bookable study spaces and learning new skills, there’s plenty waiting to be discovered and enjoyed, so make it your summer resolution to visit.

Stories from refugees in East Sussex

Cuckmere valley East Sussex

To celebrate the contribution of refugees and people seeking sanctuary in the county we want to share stories from two refugees now living in East Sussex. Challenging negative stereotypes and creating a space where refugees can be seen and heard beyond their experience of displacement.

Don’t let measles ruin your summer

Measles outbreak

Measles is back and rates are rising fast, don’t let it ruin your summer.

If you become infected with measles, it can be a lot more dangerous than people realise and is not ‘just a cold’.

Know the symptoms and get vaccinated before you go on holiday or attend large events and gatherings this summer. It only takes 15 minutes of contact with an infected person to catch measles.

Festival fun

Love Supreme East Sussex

Of course, summer wouldn’t be summer without a festival and lucky for us, East Sussex has an abundance to enjoy.

Our favourites include Battle’s annual arts and music festival, Love Supreme and Rye’s food and drink. What’s your favourite and which are you attending this year?
