The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (Eastbourne Branch) and Café Ukraine, Eastbourne have organised a two day vigil on the anniversary of the start of the war in Ukraine.

For the past year people of Eastbourne and East Sussex demonstrated tremendous support to Ukraine. People donated money, food, clothes, hosted refugees, volunteered in support centres. You opened not only your homes for Ukraine, but also your big and kind hearts.

But the war is still going on. Deadly bombs are constantly falling and destroying Ukrainian homes, cities, lives. Millions of Ukrainians are fleeing the genocidal war.

In the last 365 days

o Over 6,800 peaceful civilians have been killed

o Over 450 children have been murdered and over 16,000 illegally transported to Russia

o Over 5,350 hospitals and schools have been destroyed

And sometimes it feels like there is no end in sight. But together we can stop this tragedy. Please, continue to stand with Ukraine.

9:00 members of Ukrainian community will raise the national flag of Ukraine, place posters and candles near the Town Hall. A donation box will be available.
