FREE TRAINING PLACES AVAILABLE: Cultural Curiosity: working better with migrant communities
Do you want to enhance your understanding of working with migrant communities including refugees and asylum seekers?
We are pleased to offer a FREE training session which aims to further our understanding of the needs and experiences of migrant populations, the refugee experience, and the subsequent impact on physical and mental wellbeing, and support services available.
The workshop will cover:
- Changing demographics of East Sussex and the importance of understanding migrant populations
- Terminology around migrants, refugees and asylum seekers
- How and why people leave their homes and the different schemes and routes to seeking asylum
- Barriers faced by migrant populations
- An overview of immigration services available
