ESSCP -Supporting LGBT+ Children & Young People – Wed 23rd April 2025 2-5pm

There are spaces available on the upcoming ESSCP Supporting LGBT+ Children & Young People Wednesday 23rd April 2-5pm via MS Teams.

This session will also allow participants to discuss and reflect on how safeguarding issues relate specifically to LGBT+ children and young people – such as, increased risk of suicide, self-harm, exploitation, missing education etc.

Supporting LGBT+ Children & Young People
We will explore some of the issues and challenges experienced by children and young people who are LGBT+ or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.  Together we will examine how these issues may impact their lives and wellbeing.

By the end of the training, participants will have:

  • A better understanding of the experiences of LGBT+ people.
  • More confidence in supporting, and being an ally to, LGBT+ people
  • Knowledge about creating more inclusive environments for LGBT+ people

If you wish to attend this course, please e-mail Debbie Jenkin, ESSCP Senior Business Administrator,  on [email protected]

Please note that places are limited and if you have a place booked on this course you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Deborah Jenkin and a link to the training and details of the trainer(s) delivering the course.  If you don’t get a confirmation e-mail by the course closing date, Friday 18th April, this means that you have not been successful on this occasion. Please note this course is not booked through the East Sussex Training & Learning Platform.
